Virtual Remote Bookkeeping Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Recording:
Accurately record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accounting software.
Reconciliation:
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure that all financial records are in order, matching accounts with bank statements and credit card statements.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections. Ensure all transactions are documented and updated in the accounting system.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in generating financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to clients.
Payroll Assistance:
Support the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accurate deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings for employees.
Tax Preparation Support:
Prepare and maintain necessary financial records for tax reporting and assist with the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
General Bookkeeping Support:
Provide general bookkeeping support as needed, including maintaining organized financial records, filing receipts, and ensuring all data is up-to-date.
Confidentiality & Accuracy:
Handle all financial information with confidentiality, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and accuracy in all financial documentation.
Qualifications:
Experience & Education:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with experience in remote work environments preferred.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools.
Skills & Competencies:
SStrong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with complex financial data.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a remote work environment.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proactive problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
Ability to manage sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
Language Requirements:
Must have the ability to speak English at a C1 level with minimal accent to communicate clearly and effectively over the phone with clients and the employer.
Must be able to read and write in English with a native tone, ensuring all written communication is professional and easily understood by English-speaking clients.
