Virtual Remote Legal Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Research & Drafting
Assist in legal research and drafting of documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and other legal correspondence. Ensure documents are properly formatted and compliant with legal standards.
Case Management
Manage and organize case files, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Monitor case progress and update clients and legal teams as needed.
Client Communication
Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, handling phone calls, emails, and scheduling meetings. Maintain professional communication while ensuring that all client information remains confidential.
Calendar & Appointment Management
Manage calendars and schedules for attorneys, coordinating meetings, court appearances, depositions, and deadlines. Ensure all appointments are confirmed and reminders are sent in a timely manner.
Document Filing & Organization
File and organize legal documents using online case management software. Prepare filings for submission to courts, regulatory agencies, or opposing counsel.
Administrative Support
Provide general administrative support, including managing emails, handling correspondence, and assisting with billing and invoicing.
Maintain Confidentiality
Handle sensitive client information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with legal confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
Experience & Education:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a remote environment.
Associate’s degree or equivalent in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred.
Paralegal certification (preferred but not required).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase) is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally with clients and legal teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
